Madison's First Day Home

On Sunday, April 22, 2012, we were finally able/ready to bring Madison home!  Before we left, Daddy and Maddie decided to see what it was like sleeping in Mommy's hospital bed.

After getting all of the "okays" from the many different doctors, we were finally ready to leave.  Daddy packed the car up with all of the flowers, suitcases, etc., and Mommy was rolled out of the hospital, carrying Madison.  Madison had to have her "Lo-Jack" removed before we could officially leave the building.

When we got home, Gigi, Daddygrand, Mimi, and Uncle Brian came over to welcome Madison home.

We all enjoyed Uncle Brandon and "Aunt" Jenna's cookie bouquet for dessert!

After a long day, Madison went to sleep for the very first time in her very own bassinet.  But don't worry, she got up several times that night because she wasn't ready for the party to end!

Madison's "Birth Day" Cake and Hospital Visitors

After Madison's 4:02am arrival, we went to the recovery room and then "checked in" to our hospital room. Altogether, we stayed at the hospital four nights. It was nice to have people on call for questions, medicine, and food! :)

Madison had lots of visitors during her stay at the hospital. Her Gigi and Mimi came by to visit, as well as her Uncle Brandon and Jenna, Aunt Rachel, Uncle Brian, Aunt Amanda, and Uncle Marshall. Also, her "Aunt" Lolly, "Aunt" Mo-Mo, "Aunt" Meghann, "Uncle" Adam and "Aunt" Stephanie came by to visit too!

Her cousin Addy stopped by to visit too! Addy, Aunt Amanda, and Uncle Marshall brought Madison her very first "Birth Day" Cake to celebrate!

Addy helped Madison with the candle!

But most importantly, Madison loved her Daddy time! The two of them spent hours sleeping on the hospital couch.

And the pictures begin....

Madison Anne Holcombe Finally Arrives!

The day finally arrvied!  We got a call at 4:15am that morning, telling us there was a room available for our induction.  Then they called us back to say there were no longer any rooms.  This went on until about 8:00am, when we finally got a room.  We jumped in the car and headed to the hospital.

Rusty (Daddygrand), Ellen (Gigi), and Jennifer (Mimi) arrived shortly thereafter.

They started the pitocin right away, and I got the epidural around 11:00am. Totally worth it! Dr. Firpo broke my water bag around 1:00pm and then we waited until 2:00am to figure out how Miss Madison was going to arrive. After an hour and a half of pushing, Dr. Firpo opted for a c-section.

Madison arrived at exactly 4:02am, weighing 7lbs 8oz and measuring at 20.5 inches.
